Mitsubishi heat pump service, cleaning and maintenance in Auckland
If your Mitsubishi heat pump hasn't been serviced in the last 12 months, or you've noticed a smell, weaker airflow, or a power bill that's climbed without cause, get in touch.

Is this the right service for your situation?
Your Mitsubishi heat pump hasn't had a professional clean in the last year. Mitsubishi Electric recommends cleaning filters every seasonal change and clearing outdoor debris every six months, with a professional service for the indoor coil. An unserviced unit can lose 10 to 25 percent of its operating efficiency over time.
It's running but airflow feels weak or there's a smell. A room taking noticeably longer to reach temperature, a smell from the indoor unit, or a power bill that's climbed without cause are common signs on units running more than 12 months without a service. Waiting until the problem becomes obvious usually means it's bigger than it needed to be.
You're not sure which Mitsubishi you have. Mitsubishi Electric operates through a local subsidiary, while Mitsubishi Heavy Industries distributes through third-party suppliers under the MHI brand, including the Avanti and Bronte ranges. Check the label on your indoor unit, or we'll confirm it on arrival.
What a Mitsubishi Heat Pump Restore includes
A qualified technician services Mitsubishi Electric and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries units the same way: filters, indoor coil, fan blades, and the drain system. A well-serviced unit should show a gap of at least 8 to 10 degrees between return air and discharge in cooling mode. We measure this before and after every visit as proof the service worked. A wall-mounted service takes one to one and a half hours on site, longer for ducted systems. You'll need to be present, with clear access to both the indoor and outdoor unit.

Common questions about Mitsubishi heat pump service
Is Mitsubishi Electric the same as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries?
Does the self-clean mode or Dual Barrier Coating replace a professional service?
No. Self Clean runs the indoor fan at low speed for 15 to 30 minutes to dry moisture and reduce mould on the fan blades. Dual Barrier Coating slows dust building on the coil but doesn't stop it. Neither reaches the drain pan, drain line or outdoor unit, and neither brand claims otherwise in its own documentation.
How do I know which Mitsubishi brand I have?
Check the label on the side or back of the indoor unit. It reads either 'Mitsubishi Electric' or 'Mitsubishi Heavy Industries', sometimes abbreviated to MHI. Your installer paperwork or warranty registration will also confirm it, or your technician can check on arrival.
Will skipping professional maintenance affect my Mitsubishi warranty?
Yes, it can. Warranty terms vary by model and purchase date, so check your own documentation for specifics, but both brands include regular professional maintenance in their owner responsibility sections. A claim assessment looks at the condition of the filters, coil and drain pan. Keep a record of every service, it's the clearest protection if a claim is disputed. Outside of warranty, MiHT carries out Mitsubishi heat pump repair directly.
How often should a Mitsubishi heat pump be serviced?
An annual service is the appropriate minimum for most Auckland homes. Units near active kitchens, homes with pets, or high-use households benefit from a service every six to eight months. Coastal properties face extra salt-spray exposure on the outdoor unit, which tends to bring the schedule forward.
