Get your Zehnder system back to delivering the fresh, tempered air it was commissioned to provide.

Zehnder ComfoAir systems serviced across Auckland, covering the current Q350, Q450, Q600, 180 and 200 range, and the earlier 350, 375 and 550 generation. Your service covers the core filters, the extract point cones, the heat exchange core, ducting, the condensation drain and diffusers. Maintenance only. MiHT doesn't sell or install new systems.

Maintenance is all we do. Our business depends on your system lasting, not on replacing it.

Is this the right service for your Zehnder system?

Your system hasn't been serviced in the last 12 months. Zehnder's documentation calls for the heat exchange core, filters and condensation drain to be checked at least every two years. If your control panel or app is showing a filter reminder, that's a sign service is due now, not later.

Your rooms feel stuffy or the air doesn't feel as fresh as it used to. A Zehnder system is a balanced ventilation system. It brings in outside air and extracts stale air at matched rates through a shared heat exchange core. When the core or filters are loaded, both sides of the exchange suffer at once.

Condensation on your windows has increased. Zehnder systems actively remove moisture-laden air from the home. If condensation is returning, the system may not be exhausting air at the rate it was designed to. A service checks whether airflow and system balance have been maintained.

You want to protect a system that cost significantly more to install. Zehnder units are a meaningful investment, common in airtight and passive-house-standard builds. The core, fans and duct network degrade faster under restricted airflow. Regular servicing protects that investment and maintains the energy recovery you paid for.

What your Zehnder Ventilation Service includes.

Your Zehnder system has more components than a positive pressure system. When performance drops, the cause usually sits in the filters, the extract cones, the heat exchange core or the ducting.

The core filters

Your Zehnder unit uses two filters: a G4 filter on the extract side and an F7 filter on the supply side, fitted with the genuine specification for your model. Both are replaced at every service.

The heat exchange core

Your core is where incoming and outgoing air pass simultaneously without mixing. Dead insects, dust and organic material build up on the surface over time. The core is removed, cleaned using the correct method for your exchanger type, and dried fully before reinstallation. A core reinstalled while still damp introduces moisture directly into the unit.

The condensation drain

Where your unit has a standard heat exchanger, condensate drains through a sealed connection to your home's waste-water system, using a water seal that must stay full to stop the unit drawing in leakage air. Some exchanger types don't produce condensate and don't need this step. Which type your unit has is confirmed before service.

The extract point cones

Each bathroom, kitchen and laundry extract valve has its own G3 filter cone. These catch dust and grease before it reaches the ducting, and load up faster than the core filters. Checked and cleaned or replaced as part of your service.

The ducting

The full duct run is inspected for damage, disconnections, restrictions and insulation condition. Where insulation on the supply ducts has degraded, recovered heat is lost into the roof space before it reaches your rooms.

The diffusers and grilles

Supply and extract diffusers inside the home are cleaned, along with the external intake and exhaust points, which are checked for leaf debris and insect build-up.

Airflow verification

Once everything is cleaned and reinstalled, supply and extract airflow is checked against what the system should be delivering.

What You Receive After Every Service.

You receive a written condition report after every service. It's a documented record of the system's state before the service, the work performed and the measured result. It's the evidence that the service was done and done properly.

Before-and-after photographs of all serviced components

Written notes on every finding, what was done and what needs a follow-up visit

A condition record useful for warranty purposes, insurance or property records

We service these systems across greater Auckland, including Central, West, North Shore, South and the Eastern Beaches.

How Would You Like Us to Look After Your System?

Your Zehnder system runs continuously. It's exchanging air and recovering heat around the clock, which means filters, extract cones, the heat exchange core and ducting accumulate contaminants whether you notice it or not. If you're not sure what condition your system is in, start with a one-off service. If you want it looked after year after year without having to think about it, a care plan is the better option.

Annual Care Plan: Scheduled once per year. Your system runs around the clock and loads constantly. Annual servicing is the standard recommendation, particularly for homes with higher occupancy, pets or coastal exposure.

Biennial Care Plan: Professional service every two years. Suited to holiday homes or low-occupancy properties where the system runs but filter loading is slower. Same process and condition report as the Annual Care Plan.

One-Off Restore: The right starting point if your system has never been serviced or you want to know exactly what condition it's in. No ongoing commitment required.

Not sure if this is your system?

Common questions about Zehnder ventilation servicing in Auckland.

How often should a Zehnder system be serviced?

At least once every two years, matching Zehnder's documented interval for the core, filters and condensation drain. Homes with pets or higher occupancy benefit from annual servicing. The extract point cones need checking roughly every six months.

Does cleaning the core affect the system balance?

No, provided the core is reinstalled correctly and any dampers are left at their original settings. Your system was commissioned at installation with airflow carefully calibrated across the house. A professional service preserves that commissioned state.

What's the difference between a Zehnder system and a positive pressure system?

Your Zehnder system brings fresh air in from outside and extracts stale air at the same rate, using a heat exchanger to recover warmth from the outgoing air. A positive pressure system draws air from the roof space, filters it and pushes it into the home. Stale air escapes through gaps around doors and windows.

Do you service both older and current Zehnder models?

Yes. MiHT services the current ComfoAir Q, 180 and 200 range as well as earlier 350, 375 and 550 generation units still installed in Auckland homes.

What filters does a Zehnder system use?

A G4 filter on the extract side and an F7 filter on the supply side, across the current and older ComfoAir range. Each extract point in the home also has its own G3 filter cone, which needs checking more often than the core filters.

Can I service my Zehnder system myself?

You can vacuum ceiling diffusers and wipe down grilles. The core, the filters in the roof space and the ducting inspection need a technician, since the core is a delicate component and the duct run sits in a confined roof space.

What does a filter reminder on my control panel mean?

It's a scheduled filter reminder, not a malfunction. Once the filters are replaced and the counter reset, it runs again until the next change is due.

How long does a Zehnder ventilation service take?

Your service typically takes one and a half to two hours depending on system complexity and the number of supply and return points. We'll confirm the expected duration at booking.

Will I need to be home during the service?

Yes. Your unit, exterior grilles and each room need to be accessed to verify airflow at supply and return points. Someone needs to be home for the duration of the visit.

Does my system have a condensation drain?

It depends on your unit's exchanger type. This is confirmed at the start of every service.
