What's the difference between a filter replacement and a full service?
Not much. We build those checks into every filter replacement now. Your visit already covers the fan unit, ducting, diffusers and intake area, not just the filter itself. A full service becomes a separate job only if we find something that needs hands-on repair on site, like a fan rebalance or a duct reseal, and we'd quote that separately rather than bundle it into a standard visit.
Will I need to be home during the service?
Yes. Your ceiling space needs to be accessed for the unit and ducting inspection, and every room needs to be checked for diffuser airflow. Someone needs to be home for the duration of the visit.
How much does HRV filter replacement cost in Auckland?
It depends on your system generation and size. A Pre-2022 HRV filter replacement runs $249 to $390 inc GST, and a Post-2022 Classic Pro or AirSense system, which needs a genuine filter and a Filter Key reset, runs $339 to $620 inc GST. Do you use genuine HRV filters?
We fit the correct filter for your system generation every time. Classic Pro and AirSense systems currently have no compatible aftermarket option, so those get a genuine HRV filter and Filter Key reset. Older Pre-2022 systems take a quality compatible filter matched to the correct grade for your fan box. Either way, you get the grade your system actually needs, not whatever's cheapest, and it's confirmed in your written report.
How often should I replace my HRV filter?
Most homes are fine on an 18 to 24 month interval, in line with HRV's own service guidance. If you've got pets, allergies, a dusty section, or you've just renovated, 8 to 12 months is more realistic.
