What's the difference between a filter replacement and a full DVS System Restore?
A filter replacement covers the filter itself. A full DVS System Restore also checks the fan housing, the complete duct run, every ceiling diffuser and the roof cavity intake, then confirms airflow with a written report. If we find something that needs hands-on repair, like a disconnected duct or a fan rebalance, we'll quote that separately rather than bundle it into a standard visit.
Will I need to be home during the service?
Yes. Your ceiling space needs to be accessed for the unit and ducting inspection, and every room needs to be checked for diffuser airflow. Someone needs to be home for the duration of the visit.
How much does DVS filter replacement cost in Auckland?
A full DVS positive pressure ventilation service is $249 inc GST. That covers more than a filter swap: roof cavity inspection, fan unit clean, full ducting check, diffuser detailing in every room, and an airflow calibration check, with a written report and before-and-after photos.
Do you use genuine DVS filters?
We fit the correct filter for your system. The genuine EcoStatic filter, made from New Zealand wool, is DVS's warranty-safe option; DVS's own documentation states a non-genuine filter may affect your warranty within the five-year period. Once a system is outside warranty, a compatible G4 or F7 filter is a reasonable alternative, and we'll confirm which is right for your system on the day.
How often should I replace my DVS filter?
DVS recommends replacing the filter every 12 months, and that's written into their official documentation across current models. If your roof cavity is unusually dusty, or there's been recent construction nearby, replacing it sooner is worth considering.
Can I buy a replacement DVS filter myself at Bunnings or Mitre 10?
Yes. A compatible G4-grade bag filter (Supercell brand) is available at Bunnings and Mitre 10 for around $22 to $25, and it's a straightforward DIY swap once your system is outside its 5-year warranty period. A third-party F7 sock filter, independently graded for finer particle filtration, runs around $49 if you want a step up. Within the warranty period, DVS's own documentation notes that a non-genuine filter may affect your warranty, so the genuine EcoStatic filter ($75) is the safer choice. If you'd rather have the correct filter fitted properly, plus the fan, ducting, diffusers and roof cavity checked in the same visit, that's exactly what our $249 service covers.
