A central ducted heat pump is simply another name for a standard ducted heat pump. Both terms describe the same setup: one indoor unit, usually installed in the ceiling cavity or under the floor, that heats or cools every room in the house through a network of ducts and vents.The word "central" refers to the single unit doing the work for the whole home, rather than a separate wall-mounted unit in every room. Air is drawn back into the unit through a return grille, conditioned, and pushed out through supply vents to each room.Central ducted systems are common across NZ homes, particularly newer builds and renovations where hiding the equipment matters.
